Hi, I’m Austin

My passion is helping people resolve their pain at the root.

I was introduced to acupuncture and Chinese medicine through my own journey dealing with chronic pain and the stress that comes with it. (To read my pain journey, scroll down!) In a long pursuit of answers, I developed a passion for this medicine and decided to study it in order to help others.

I first graduated from UMBC with my BA in Psychology.

Then, I traveled to Asheville, NC for school where I completed my masters program at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine. I learned from incredible teachers during my time in Asheville, for whom I am eternally thankful.

I learned about the great effectiveness of acupuncture, massage and other modalities including herbal medicine to treat many conditions including pain.

Inspired by those that helped me, I decided to move back to my home state and give back to the community where I was raised.

I grew up an athlete of all four seasons, eventually playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. I still enjoy playing sports as well as rock climbing, rafting, and hiking with my wife and dog.

Deciding to make change and seek healing is no easy thing. It is a privilege to work alongside you in your unique healing journey.

My pain journey

While playing lacrosse in college, I began to experience pain in my hip. The pain was persistent and was diagnosed as a hip labral tear with an impingement requiring surgery.

After 3 years of playing throughout my college career with pain, I decided on having surgery.

6 months after surgery, I was still feeling the exact same pain sensations in my hip and was at a loss. The pain was challenging physically and psychologically as I felt lost as to where to go from there.

I decided to go all in on every other option there was, including acupuncture.

Through acupuncture and Chinese medicine I was able to not only finally find relief but gain insight into the cause of my pain in a way that was not described by any other modality.

This inspired me to study acupuncture and find my own healing in the process.

In my time studying Chinese medicine in Asheville, NC I was able to receive many treatments and find full relief from my hip pain. Now, my mission is to do the same for others.
